Motorola’s folding cellphone has two variants, namely the Motorola Razr 40 and the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. As the name implies, the Ultra variant has more features than the usual one.

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra has a 10-bit AMOLED secondary screen with dimensions of 3.6 inches and a resolution of 1066 x 1056 pixels.

This phone is claimed to have the largest secondary screen among other clamshell folding phones. Motorola breaks the record for the Oppo Find N2 Flip which has a secondary screen measuring 3.26 inches.

Display Panels

The main screen of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra measures 6.69 inches with LTPO AMOLED and Full HD Plus resolution. Refresh rate refresh rate 165 Hz, HDR10 Plus, as well as a maximum brightness level of 1,400 nits.

As for the secondary screen, the 10-bit AMOLED panel is combined with a resolution of 1,066 x 1,056 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra carries the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset with 8GB and 12GB of RAM, as well as 256GB and 512GB of storage memory. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra battery capacity is 3,800 mAh with fast charging features of 30 watts (wired) and 5 watts (wireless).

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra uses the Android 13 operating system (OS) which is polished with the Moto MyUX interface (UI). Other supporting features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP52 waterproof certification, and others. Motorola also guarantees operating system updates three times.

The difference between the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and the regular one lies in the smaller screen size of the “regular” version. The camera on the Motorola Razr 40 has a 64 MP main camera complete with OIS features. Another difference is in the chips.

The regular version uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 System on Chip (SoC), with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage space. The battery capacity in the regular version is larger, which is 4,200 mAh, but the charging power remains the same at 30 and 5 watts.
