Multi-screen collaboration allows users to mirror the display of their Huawei phone on the MatePad so they can answer calls or type messages. Mirror mode allows users to link the tablet to a Windows-compatible Huawei laptop.

Users will be able to use the tablet as a standalone drawing device in apps like Photoshop or even use the MatePad Pro’s screen as a secondary monitor.

Shifting to the hardware side, the MatePad Pro 12.6 comes with a 12.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. While the MatePad Pro 10.8 has an IPS LCD with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Huawei incorporates a selfie camera in the center of the side bezel which gives it a more traditional laptop-like feel during video calls.

The panel supports playback of HDR 10 content and covers the entire DCI-P3 color gamut. Users also get eight Harman/Kardon speakers and four microphones for voice capture up to 5 meters away.

The Kirin 9000E chipset is embedded in the 12.6-inch model, while the smaller 10.8-inch gets the Snapdragon 870. Both models get 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. There are three cameras on the back with a dedicated 3D depth sensor.

Huawei claims the MatePad Pro 12.6 can be used for up to 14 hours on a single charge thanks to its massive 10,000 mAh battery.

Users also get 40W fast wired charging, 27W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The 10.8-inch version gets a 7,250 mAh battery. Both models support Huawei’s new M-Pencil stylus and smart magnetic keyboard.
