The Honor 90 GT is here as a successor to the Honor 80 GT which was released in December 2022. As a successor, the Honor 90 GT is equipped with more impressive specifications.
The Honor 90 GT is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which was released in 2022. Last year, the Honor 80 GT was powered by Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
This cellphone has a 6.7 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2,664 x 1,200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a peak brightness level of 2,600 nits.
The RAM capacity of the Honor 90 GT has now been increased to a maximum of 24 GB with media storage of up to 1 TB. Previously, the Honor 80 GT had the largest memory option, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
On the middle side of the screen there is a punch hole that houses the 16 MP selfie camera. The Honor 90 GT screen also supports an under-screen fingerprint scanner or in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the back side there is a rectangular camera module that houses two rear cameras. Both are a 50 MP main camera (Sony IMX906 sensor) and a 12 MP ultrawide camera. Honor chose to ditch the 2 MP macro camera that was previously present on the Honor 80 GT.
Other features brought by the Honor 90 GT include a cooling system in the form of 3D Ice Cold Drive heat dissipation measuring 5,268 square mm.
The system offers a heat dissipation area of 37,347 square mm, which will reduce the chances of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset throttling due to heavy workloads.
The battery specifications and fast charging feature of the Honor 90 GT are also up in class. Now, this cellphone is supported by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 100 watt fast charging.
For comparison, the Honor 80 GT is equipped with a 4,800 mAh capacity battery with a fast charging feature that is stuck at 66 watts. For the software aspect, this cellphone runs the Android 14 operating system coated with the MagicOS 7.2 interface system.
