The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable smartphone gets another new competitor, this time coming from Tecno. At the MWC 2023 event, Tecno announced its first smartphone with a foldable flexible screen, called the Phantom V Fold.

Design and Display Panels
the device weighs 299 grams and when closed has dimensions of 159.4x72x14.5 mm. Even though it’s thick, its portable shape makes it easy to carry around and can be used like a non-folding smartphone in general thanks to the 6.42-inch display cover. The screen on the outside has a resolution of 1080 x 2550 pixels and is covered with protective glass Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Phantom V Fold transforms into a mini tablet and offers a 7.85-inch folding screen supported by a resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels. This large screen allows running multiple applications simultaneously, thereby increasing multitasking efficiency.
The Tecno uses an LTPO AMOLED panel that supports 1 billion colors on the outer screen and the one on the inside of the Phantom V Fold. It supports a peak brightness level of up to 1,100 nits and an adaptive refresh rate of 10-120Hz.
Camera resolution
Moving on to the camera aspect, there are three camera units on the back with a 50MP main camera. Together with a 50MP camera with a telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom and 13MP with an ultrawide lens. The front camera is 16MP on the outside and 32MP on the inside.
Performance
Tecno relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. The 4nm chipset can be considered competitive and is in the same generation as Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Its main core is based on Cortex-X2 with a clock speed of up to 3.2GHz and is combined with the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
Battery Capacity
The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh with 45W fast charging, the Phantom V Fold is claimed to be 40% charged in 15 minutes and full in 55 minutes.
