Review Xiaomi Poco M3 – This new member of the M-Series smartphone from POCO comes with something interesting like the design, especially the back which is getting refreshed.
Starting from the display, the POCO M3 still maintains the Dot Drop Display design, aka water drops with a small notch at the top to house an 8 megapixel selfie camera.
POCO M3 has a 6.53-inch diagonal IPS LCD screen that offers Full HD Plus resolution coated with Gorilla Glass 3.The screen is also TUV Rheinland certified, but its drawbacks are still held at the standard 60Hz refresh rate.
But what’s even more interesting is the completely new rear design. The back of the phone comes in a dual-tone finish and adds a large rectangular box that covers most of the top.
This is something interesting that we have never seen in a line of smartphones in the same segment. The rear body of the POCO M3 is more complete with a textured anti-fingerprint coating and three color variants to choose from such as Power Black, Cool Blue and POCO Yellow.
The large rectangular box itself houses the triple-camera which is arranged vertically complete with the LED flash inside and the “POCO” branding is engraved on the opposite side of the camera setup.
The three cameras consist of a 48 megapixel main camera that has a pixel size of 0.8μm with an aperture of f / 1.79. There is also a pair of 2 megapixel cameras that act as an f / 2.4 macro lens and an f / 2.4 depth sensor, respectively.
Another highlight that the POCO M3 offers is a huge 6,000 mAh capacity battery to ensure you can continue to use it in exciting activities for longer than its predecessor which had a 5,000 mAh battery.
There is also support for 18W fast charging technology to ensure the POCO M3 gets power faster via USB Type-C. But because of the big battery too, the thickness increased to 9.6mm. But interestingly, the company managed to maintain a weight of 198 grams.
The POCO M3 is powered by Qualcomm’s 11nm chipset called Snapdragon 662 in line with the leaks so far that are combined with 4GB of RAM and a choice of native storage between 64GB or 128GB.
If it’s still lacking, there’s a microSD card slot to expand your storage capacity up to 512GB. Completing the specifications, we get dual stereo speakers, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor for security of the device which is now placed on the side.
The POCO M3 runs MIUI 12 with the Poco launcher which is still based on the Android 10 operating system. But the company says it is in plans to get Android 11 OS.
