Review Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra– The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra borrows a lot of specs from the Mi 11 Pro, including the punch-hole design that comes packing a 6.81-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with curved edges that offers WQHD resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) and has been coated with Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.

This is an A + rated display from DisplayMate that supports HDR10 + plus Dolby Vision alongside the DCI-P3 color space. Apart from that, the Mi 11 Ultra screen also has a very bright 1,700 nits with support for MEMC frame rate compensation plus a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Xiaomi’s main focus on the Mi 11 Ultra is in the photography sector, and they have proven that by making the Mi 11 Ultra one of the smartphones with the best cameras. Even DxOMark gave a score of 143 in its tests which made the Mi 11 Ultra occupy the top position on the platform.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a rear triple-camera setup packed in a large camera module that covers almost the entire top according to what has been rumored so far.

The triple-camera system behind the Mi 11 Ultra begins with the 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN2 main camera. It has a sensor size of 1 / 1.12 inch which is the largest in a smartphone camera with a pixel size of 1.4µm which Samsung says can produce photos with great detail in standard settings.

ISOCELL GN2 supports 4-in-1 binning technology to achieve a 2.8µm pixel size with an extremely sharp focus thanks to dToF technology which features a 64-point laser array focus system. The sensor is also equipped with features such as Dual Pixel Pro which can increase the speed and accuracy of autofocus and there is Smart ISO Pro to create HDR images in an instant.

Two other cameras that are owned by Mi 11 Ultra are also interesting, they both use a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with one of them acting as a telephoto periscope lens that offers 5x optical zoom and digital zoom up to 120x.

Next is an ultrawide angle camera that supports a very wide 128-degree FoV. This lens also has autofocus which allows you to take macro photos.

The Mi 11 Ultra camera can shoot 8K videos and not just one, but all of its cameras are impressive and it also comes with Night mode and various other interesting features to provide a more enjoyable photography experience.

What’s even more interesting is that the secondary screen sits right at the rear camera setup sampling. Xiaomi says that it serves as a viewfinder that allows you to take selfies using the main camera.

The screen is an AMOLED measuring 1.1 inches which has a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels with a top speed of 450 nits. Apart from taking selfies, the secondary screen will also display some important information such as notifications, battery level, weather, health alerts, and other important information.

It also features an Always On and Ultra-Low Power saving mode to provide additional standby time of up to 55 hours. Speaking of taking selfies, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a single 20 megapixel front-facing camera which is mounted in a punch hole in the top left corner of the screen.

Another highlight on the Mi 11 Ultra is the 5,000 mAh capacity battery which is sufficient to help users carry out exciting activities all day long. Like the Pro model, it uses a second generation nano siloxy anode battery.

This smartphone is supported by 67W Wired technology and wireless fast charging. According to Xiaomi, both charging technologies can fully charge the Mi 11 Ultra in just 36 minutes and the phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging.

Next up is the next-generation in-display day fingerprint sensor that can unlock in the dark and detect a heartbeat. There is also NFC support, dual SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, IR blaster. Last but not least, the smartphone running MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 is IP68-rated.
