The smartwatch has two series, namely Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The Pro version is Samsung’s first smartwatch to use the word “Pro”. Because the previous series did not have the naming Pro, there were only classic and standard versions.
Galaxy Watch 5 Series Design and Specifications
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro sport a circular screen form factor like their predecessor Galaxy Watch 4, but this year, both the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro won’t feature the rotating bezels found in the previous ones. generations of Galaxy Watch 3 Classic and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.
The colors for the Galaxy Watch 5 series can be described as suitable colors for those who have a young and active lifestyle. As for the standard model, an official leak made online suggests that the Galaxy Watch 5 will be available in four colors: Gold, Purple, Navy Green and Blue.
For the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, it’s said to be available in more muted yet professional colors like titanium black or gray. And this time, the leak shows that Samsung will equip the high-end Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with a Sapphire glass front screen with a titanium body.

As a flagship smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to come with outstanding durability standards as well such as IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810G for salt, shock and radiation protection.
Memory
Under the hood, we expect the Galaxy Watch 5 series to have similar internals to the Galaxy Watch 4 series. For context, the Galaxy Watch 4 features Samsung’s industry-leading Exynos W920 smartwatch SoC, with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
Battery
Endurance in the hand, both the Watch 5 and 5 Pro are said to have better battery life than their predecessors. The Galaxy Watch 5 will be available with a 276mAh battery for the 40mm model or a 398mAh battery for the 44mm model. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is said to offer a massive upgrade in the battery department, coming with a 572mAh battery capacity.
Notably, Samsung is also said to offer 10W fast charging support on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which is almost double what the Galaxy Watch 4 series currently offers.
Software
Lastly, both watches will run Google’s latest wearOS 3.5 with the Samsung One UI Watch 4.5.
