Review OnePlus Nord 2 5G – OnePlus has announced its latest 5G smartphone designed as a flagship killer, the Nord 2 5G. This device carries a number of high-end specs while maintaining a mid-range price tag.
This time, OnePlus relies on MediaTek’s 5G chipset, the Dimensity 1200 AI, which offers performance close to a flagship. Combined with 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI itself is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process technology. Brings an octa-core CPU with 1+3+4 configuration and Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
The processor includes one Arm Cortex-A78 ultra-core up to 3GHz for extreme performance, three Arm Cortex-A78 super-cores, and four 2.0GHz Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
Moving on to the screen and camera, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G packs a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. In the punch hole in the upper left corner, there is a 32MP front camera. Meanwhile, the rear camera is configured with a triple camera.
The interesting thing is that the main camera uses a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor as found on the OnePlus 9 Pro flagship smartphone.
This includes getting optical image stabilization for shake-free shots and videos, as well as Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR) to help synthesize exposure data from two images into one final shot. The two secondary cameras include an 8MP camera with an ultrawide lens and a 2MP camera with a monochrome lens.
Operating system running Oxygen OS 11.3 based on Android 11, OnePlus promises two major Android updates and three years of security updates.
The battery uses a dual-cell 4,500 mAh capacity which is claimed to last for two days and is supported by 65W Warp Charge fast charging technology that can fully charge from 0% to 100% in just 30 minutes.
