Review Motorola Edge X30 – The Motorola Edge X30 was launched on Thursday (9/12/2021) and became the first phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
This series has two versions with the X30 Special Edition having a selfie camera under the screen and the regular X30 still with a punch hole.
Other specifications for the two phones are identical. Motorola also announced the Moto S30 that uses the Snapdragon 888+.
The Motorola Edge X30 features a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This is an Android 12 smartphone.
The regular version has a small punch hole below the earpiece for the 60MP selfie camera with 1/2.8-inch sensor and 1.2μm pixels.
The Special Edition uses the same module but hides it under the screen, it will be interesting to see how the two stack up on each other.
Based on Motorola testing, the X30 should offer a 20% jump in CPU performance, 30% better GPU score, and a staggering 400% improvement in AI tasks compared to the Snapdragon 888+ chip.
On the back is a 50MP main camera with 1/1.55-inch OmniVision OV50A sensor with OIS. It has 2.0μm pixels when 4in1 pixel binning is applied.
There’s a second 50MP ISOCELL S5KGM1 ultrawide camera, while the third sensor is a 2MP depth of field module. The Edge X30 has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 68W wired charging.
