Samsung Electronics, a technology product vendor from South Korea, presents their trio of flagships, namely the regular Galaxy S22 5G, Galaxy S22+ 5G, and Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. All three carry the power of the camera to produce better video and photo images.
The flagship smartphone carries the power of the camera. One of them is the latest Nightography feature for night photography. Samsung also embeds Adaptive-Pixel technology so that more light enters and more colors can be captured.
The sensor used in the camera on the Galaxy S22 5G series is also claimed to be 23% larger than the previous generation. Furthermore, the regular Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ have three rear cameras, consisting of a 50MP wide lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. On the front, there is a 10MP selfie camera.
Meanwhile, on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung embeds four rear cameras, namely a 108MP wide lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and two 10MP telephoto lenses each.
The first telephoto lens had a 36-degree field of view, f/2.4 aperture and triple optical zoom capability. The other lens uses an 11-degree field of view, f/4.9 aperture, and 10x optical magnification. On the front, the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G has a 40MP selfie camera.
What’s special is that the Auto Framing feature embedded in the series can detect and follow the movements of up to 10 people. The phone will automatically adjust the camera focus to record the person who is the object more clearly.
In addition, the 100x Space Zoom feature is only available for the Galaxy S22 Ultra series, in the form of 10x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom thanks to the support of the AI Super Resolution Zoom feature.
Meanwhile, of the three phone models, the Galaxy S22 is the smallest at 6.1 inches. The Galaxy S22+ 5G and Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G measure 6.6 inches and 6.8 inches, respectively. All three phones have a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.
PLATFORM
Samsung provides a choice of 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB memory capacities for the Galaxy S22 5G and Galaxy S22+ 5G. Meanwhile, for the Ultra version, there are four memory options, namely 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 12GB+1TB.
In terms of battery, the power capacity starts from the smallest series, namely the Galaxy S22 5G with a 3,700mAh capacity, the S22+ 5G with a 4,500mAh battery, and the S22 Ultra 5G with a 5,000mAh battery capacity. To support its performance, all three phones use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest chip.
S Pen slot in Ultra 5G
Samsung provides a special S Pen slot for the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. This was created as a new design to integrate the S Pen stylus into the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, thus becoming a differentiating feature from the previous series.
The S Pen integrated into the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G also uses the latest design, resulting in lower latency of 2.8 milliseconds, and a smoother response from the tip of the pen to the screen.
